Use Todoist in Wayland

If your computer is running on Wayland, you may see some graphical glitches in Todoist caused by XWayland. These may include blurred fonts or scaling issues when using multiple screens.

Learn how to run Todoist as a native Wayland application without the XWayland layer:

Use Snap to run Todoist on Wayland

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Enter this command to start Todoist: span run todoist --ozone-platform-hint=auto
  3. Copy the Todoist .desktop file from /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications.
  4. Paste it to the following location: ~/.local/share/applications
  5. Edit its Exec line to add the following: --ozone-platform-hint=auto parameter

Use AppImage to run Todoist on Wayland

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Find the name of the Todoist AppImage file by entering this command: ls ~/Applications/Todoist-*.AppImage
  3. Start Todoist using the name of that file: ~/Applications/Todoist-<filename>.AppImage --ozone-platform-hint=auto
  4. Edit the Todoist .desktop file in your desktop environment by adding the following to its Exec line: --ozone-platform-hint=auto parameter
